Which markets is Traconn suitable for?

Traconn’s protocol has been design to work across geographies, commodities and instrument types. With Traconn you can adapt to market changes and expand your business without having to worry about how a given contract’s structure will fit in your system.

This is because Traconn has been designed with flexibility at its core. Our data model has no hard-coded restrictions that would hinder expanding into a new market or instrument type or if existing market parameters changed.

For example, Traconn gives you the capability to adapt to trading at a finer time granularities, or to quickly add new markets or delivery points. All business logic is designed to be use-case agnostic, and all data structures designed with universal applicability in mind.

I already have an ETRM system, how does Traconn fit in to my system landscape?

We know many companies already have existing systems that they will want to keep using. Traconn allows you to capture and manage structured contracts in totality. It can augment an ETRM, providing a home for your complex agreements and allowing you to keep your ETRM streamlined.

Traconn offers several different integration technologies (both push and pull) to simplify integration with your existing landscape. Traconn has a single data model for contract representation, meaning no matter what contract you have traded, it can flow across one interface. Our standard data objects can then be transformed (either server side or client side) for ingestion by your other systems, whether these are ETRMs, standalone risk systems, or downstream systems such as accounting.

How is Traconn delivered?

Traconn is a multitenant platform, provided as Software as a Service. There is no hosting requirement. All your employees need is an internet connection and a web browser.

As part of our offering you will have access to the productive environment as well as a test environment. The test environment is regularly refreshed with cuts of production data to aid integration testing or allow you to double check configurations of import jobs etc.

What are the benefits of Traconn’s delivery model?

Environmental considerations: Achieve a smaller energy and carbon footprint for your organisation compared to on-site deployment through our choice for Azure to host Traconn. The combined IT operational efficiency, IT equipment efficiency, and datacentre infrastructure efficiency provided reduces the energy required to deliver the services. For the electricity that is still required, over 95% is met by renewable electricity, with a commitment by Microsoft to shift to 100% by 2025.

Is there a risk another company could see my private data?

The short answers is no. We use a strong tenancy model that ensures data owned/specific to your legal entity is only stored in databases assigned to your legal entity. Our data access model ensures that only users created by you can access these databases.

How do you manage GDPR considerations?

We offer a strong tenancy model in which user data of an organization is stored and managed from a database assigned to your legal entity. We can work with you to ensure that the database and any failover servers are located in accordance with your companies GDPR requirements. We further offer tenant-level IP restrictions, allowing you to limit the geographic areas from which your users can access the system.

Do you offer SOC reports?

We are currently working with a “big four” assurance firm to ensure we are compliant with SOC II standards. We will offer SOC reports in due course.

What if I work with companies not using Traconn?

Traconn let’s you build smart contracts that can be operated either bilaterally, or unilaterally. Where a counterpart is not on the network, you’ll still be able to build and use contracts in the same way.
